Xu Yongkang

Xu Yongkang was born in Anyue, Sichuan Province. He Graduated from the Sichuan Academy of Fine Arts with a master degree in Fine Arts. Currently Xu Yongkang teaches at the Arts Institute of Southwest Nationality University in Chengdu, Sichuan Province.

Recent works of Xu Yongkang are obviously different form the past. In past creations he tried to express a kind of depressed city life involving complicated feelings of emptiness. In recent works, Xu Yongkang is searching for something with more character, a kind of creation that can represent his own current motion. By creating babies Xu Yongkang is trying to research the importance of cloning and the future developments of humankind.
